About Security-Label.co.uk — A Family-Run UK Label Specialist
Made in Scotland, trusted across the UK and beyond
Security-Label.co.uk is the trading name of PolyLabel UK Limited, a family business that has been designing and printing security and asset labels since 2004. Everything we produce is printed in-house at our premises in Hawick, in the Scottish Borders, and supplied to customers across the UK and worldwide.
We’re a small, specialist team — and that’s deliberate. Security and asset labels are all we do, so it’s all we’ve focused on getting right for more than twenty years.
Our story
It started in 2004 as a true father-and-son venture. Drummond, a time-served lithographer, had spent his entire working life in print — so when he retired, he and his son Graeme decided he wasn’t quite finished yet, and the two of them set up PolyLabel UK together to turn a lifetime of printing know-how into a dedicated label business. In 2011 they incorporated as PolyLabel UK Limited.
These days Graeme runs the business day to day, while Drummond has happily taken a back seat — though he’s still a director and never too far from the action. We’ve grown by learning and refining the craft order by order, customer by customer, and we’re proud that many of the customers who came to us right at the start are still with us today.
What we do
We specialise in asset labels, tamper-evident security labels, tamper seals, barcode labels and holographic security labels. Every label is custom-made: we don’t work from templates. We design a bespoke layout for each customer ourselves — adding your logo, text, barcodes and serial numbers — and we email proofs to you before anything is printed, so you know you’re getting exactly the label you want.
We print everything ourselves in Hawick. The raw materials are carefully sourced from trusted suppliers around the world, but the design, printing and finishing all happen in-house. For specialist bespoke work that falls outside what we produce ourselves, we work with a trusted partner so we can still say yes to the unusual requests.
What makes us different
- Genuinely small runs. Need just a handful of labels? We can do that — even down to ten — where most printers won’t. (Larger quantities are of course more economical per label.)
- Fully bespoke, never templated. Every job is designed around your requirements, with a proof sent for approval before printing.
- A personal touch. You deal directly with Graeme and a small family team that genuinely cares about getting your order right — not a call centre.
- Excellent value for genuine quality. We’re confident our pricing is highly competitive for the quality of materials we use.
- Fast turnaround. We turn orders around as quickly as we can, and pride ourselves on it.
Who we work with
Over the years we’ve supplied labels to organisations of every size and sector — from independent businesses and schools to primary healthcare trusts and UK government departments. We’re proud to have produced labels for some well-known names and major projects, including British Airways, Team Lotus, the Foreign & Commonwealth Office, Lambeth Council, the London 2012 Olympics and the Crossrail project.
Whether you’re ordering ten labels or tens of thousands, you’ll get the same care and attention.
Our quality promise
We don’t chase certificates for their own sake — what we offer instead is straightforward accountability. We stand behind every label we make, and if there’s ever a genuine manufacturing fault, we’ll happily reprint and replace it. Our reputation has been built on doing right by our customers for over two decades.
Holograms — our specialist sister site
Demand for holographic security labels grew to the point where we set up a dedicated site for it: HologramLabel.co.uk, run by the same family team, for custom and bespoke hologram work. If holograms are your focus, that’s a great place to explore — and of course we still produce hologram labels here too.
